Fifth World Conference on International Arbitration 2024

The Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA) successfully organised the Fifth World Conference on International Arbitration on November 19–20, under the theme “Arbitration in the Middle East – Present and Future.”

Held under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the conference brought together prominent arbitrators, legal scholars, and corporate leaders from across the GCC, Arab region, and internationally.

Across seven panel sessions featuring 35 expert speakers, discussions addressed key developments in commercial dispute resolution, regional institutional updates, and arbitration frameworks within state and commercial contracts.

A key milestone of the conference was the announcement of QICCA’s revised Arbitration Rules, effective January 1, 2025, aligning the Centre with international best practices.

The conference concluded with eight actionable recommendations across legislative, judicial, and procedural domains to elevate regional arbitration efficiency.
